Pacawoolly is a small alpaca stud in Michelago. We breed high quality alpacas in a variety of colours and produce natural alpaca fleece and yarn. We use sustainable, natural and economically viable products and processes in the care of alpacas, the land and fleeces.
We choose low micron, high comfort factor fleeces to mill into our yarns, ensuring a soft and comfortable product. We do not dye the yarns. Our yarn is soft to the touch, a joy to knit or crochet and comfortable to wear.
We sell alpacas as guard animals or pets and small groups of animals if you are interested in setting up a stud of your own.
We sell our yarn and garments made from our yarns. We also knit to order so if you would like a particular item knitted in our yarn please get in touch.

More About Our Yarn
Pacawoolly produces yarn from the fleeces of the variously coloured animals we have in our herd. The yarn is the natural colour of the animals and the ball labels often have the name of the animal or animals the yarn has come from. We choose fleeces with a fine micron and a high comfort factor to mill into 8 and 4 ply yarn, usually in 50 gram balls.
Working with Alpaca Yarn
There is no lanolin in alpaca yarn and it is soft and fine to the touch and beautiful to work with. People don’t tend to have any allergies to alpaca yarn and it is lighter to wear yet very warm. We also knit the yarn into various items of clothing including baby clothes, shawls and blankets, beanies, scarves, headbands, hand warmers, socks, cowls, and neck warmers.
